Provide home folder from database authentication to use as S3 path

Question

I have been using CompleteFTP with local windows file roots on a per-user basis from DatabaseAuthentication.

I need to migrate from local windows file storage to S3 file storage, and want to replicate the behaviour so that the HomeFolder field from the database is used as the S3 path.

This does not seem to work at all out of the box - I see JSON parsing issues in the error log.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how to make this work
