by support2 » Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:41 pm

Enterprise Distributed Technologies is pleased to announce the immediate release of edtFTPj/PRO 3.0.3, the leading secure FTP Java client library supporting SFTP and FTPS/FTP.

This enhancement of edtFTPj/PRO includes the following enhancements:

* Added downloadURLStream and downloadURLFile.
* Added setPrivateKeyInputStream and setPrivateKeyBytes to AdvancedSSHSettings.
* Fixed problem whereby FTP server errors such as 452 are accepted in non-strict reply checking mode.
* Made auto passive IP substition on by default.
* Fixed problem whereby an SFTP server was not appending because of the flags sent.
* Throw an exception in SFTP if creating a directory that already exists.
* Now throws FTPTransferCancelledException when uploads are cancelled in FTP/FTPS.
* Minor file parsing bug fixes.

This default attribute breaks my code. I had to extend my code to switch it off in order to be able to use this version and upward without having any problem.

Sorry - it's inevitable that it will affect some people negatively. But we get dozens of emails from people asking why their code doesn't work, and all they need to do is to set this flag. In our user world, there's far more who'll benefit if we make it the default.

Is this then the exception thrown:
Code: Select all
com.enterprisedt.net.ftp.FTPException: 4 Failure
   at com.enterprisedt.net.j2ssh.sftp.SftpSubsystemClient.getOKRequestStatus(Unknown Source)
   at com.enterprisedt.net.j2ssh.sftp.SftpSubsystemClient.makeDirectory(Unknown Source)
   at com.enterprisedt.net.j2ssh.SftpClient.mkdir(Unknown Source)
   at com.enterprisedt.net.ftp.ssh.SSHFTPClient.mkdir(Unknown Source)

It could be a little bit more significant/meaningful instead of "4 Failure", couldnt it?

This is the error message your server is returning when you try to create the directory, not edtFTPj/PRO's message.
