Error uploading large file

by ajcs » Sat Jul 25, 2015 5:14 am

A customer of mine is getting an error when doing an FTP upload of a file that is over 1gb is size.

He says it gets to about 1gb and then fails with the following error:
Upload failed; An I/O exception occurred.; An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

He has retried many times and it always seems to fail in the same place. Using other software he is able to upload the file to the same FTP server.

Does anyone know what might be causing that error?

Thanks

It's difficult to tell without a log file, but typically the server will be timing out the client connection.

You won't notice that with some clients as they will automatically reconnect and resume the transfer. Our client libraries will also do this.

Thanks . I am using the UploadStream method to upload the file. Is there a setting to make it auto reconnect and resume the transfer?

No, auto-reconnect/resume is only implemented for file.

I can't find this in the docs. Do you have an example of how to use the auto reconnect/resume with UploadFile?
