Restrict protocols available to account

by Orinoco » Fri Jul 31, 2009 12:21 pm

Hi Guys

Is it possible to limit the protocols that are available to each user account?

ie.
1/ A server is available via the internet and all accounts accessing this way would be limited to SFTP only.
2/ On the private side of the server some apps can only log into the server via FTP (mapped drives etc are not catered for) so those accounts can not be SFTP only.

Main thing is restrict internet access to SFTP only but still allow other accounts to utilise any protocol.

cheers

Hi Malcom

We haven't implemented per-user protocol selection yet, but from 3.0.0 you can achieve the result you're looking for by setting the "Listening IP addresses" for each protocol. You can find these under the advanced settings for FTP/FTPS and SFTP/SCP. What you need to do is set the listening IP addresses for FTP to your LAN-facing IP address and leave the SFTP listening on all interfaces.
