Enable / Disable Users - Resolved

by TP » Fri Jun 12, 2009 1:03 am

I downloaded the latest version of CompleteFTP (Version 2.2.0) on a Trial Basis and I noticed that once in the CompleteFTP Manager, in the "Users" section (left side) you can Enable / Disable a user.

1) The server is set to SFTP and after removing the "Enabled" on a user, apply the setting I could still connect to the server.
I also stopped the server and restart it, with the same outcome.

FTP and FTPS are disabled, Anonymous Login disabled.
the SFTP Authentication method is by Password.
The Authentication method for the user is "Complete FTP" - Not a Windows User.

2) The Welcome message does not appear during the SFTP connection.

Is there a way to disable the users in SFTP?

Thanks for reporting this - we'll investigate and report back ASAP. In the interim, if the user isn't being used you can just delete them.

The welcome message appears in what's called the SSH banner. Many SSH clients don't bother to display this message, which is why you may not see it in your client when you connect.

This is confirmed to be a bug in 2.2.0, and is now fixed (disabled SFTP users can still log in).

Please email support at enterprisedt dot com if you would like a pre-release of 2.2.1 with this fixed to try out.
