LGPL

Hi,

I have a question about the LGPL license that edtFTP is under. If I use edtFTP API in an application and hence package the edtFTP class files (unmodified) in my app's jar file. Is this jar a derivative or not?

Section 5 Paragraph 1 of the LGPL suggests (to my non legal, techie brain) that it is not derivative, but then promptly seems to contradict this in paragraph 2.

Any clarification would be appreciated.
